I have quite a few favorites right now. Animal Man is probably my number one, with Batman and Daredevil rounding out the top three. I really believe this is a wonderful time to get into comics. As much as some fans bemoan the DC relaunch, I think a lot of their titles really do allow newer readers to come in and get a feel for what’s going on. Lord knows I didn’t even know who Animal Man was until the reboot but because of the strength of this run, I’ve gone back to read Morrison’s fantastic run on the character. As far as DC is concerned, the reboot makes just about everything fair game I feel (considering their titles are all at around issue 7, jumping on now shouldn’t be a toughie) and it seems that, to a lesser extent, Marvel is doing the same with their relaunching of some titles (Daredevil, Uncanny) and their point one initiative (not entirely sure it’s working how they want it to but eh, A for effort?). I really don’t think there will ever be a clean and clear jumping on point for titles. It took me a while to get back in for that reason but really, pick up anything/everything that tickles your fancy and just go. A good writer should be able to suck you into a story no matter where you come in.
As far as costumes go, I’ve started working out so I can either be Mr. Freeze or Cyclops (since I’m in NYC and the con and Halloween are in the same month, it’s a total no brainer!). Thank you for awesome questions! and generally being awesome period!
